Screen and Stage Actor & Writer Adam Gillen exclusively brings this workshop to us on Acting for Screen. This is an exciting and valuable opportunity to learn key skills on text and improve your on screen technique from someone with extensive experience within the ever evolving stage, film and TV industry.
Many of you may know Adam from ITV's Bendorm where he played regular Liam for a total of seven series then returned to do a National arena Tour in 2019. in 2018 Adam played the title role of Mozart in the National Theatre's production of Amadeus and recently was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Olivier Awards for his performance of Chris in Killer Joe alongside Orlando Bloom at the Trafalgar Studios, West End. Before lockdown Adam was rehearsing for the role of Mercutio in the Globe's production of Rome & Juliet, which sadly came to a halt due to COVID-19.
This two hour course will focus on building character and story around minimal text, which is often the case with auditions. Often as Actors, we won't receive an entire script because it is confidential so we have to use our imagination and skills to create a compelling story of our own. It is always more of a challenge to work with limited text and here Adam will show you how you can make the absolute most of it.
With the wave of COVID-19, auditions via self tape and online via Zoom will be the new norm so really honing your screen technique is absolutely key. Many productions are filming abroad and casting is fast, so casting solely from your tape or your online meeting is extremely likely. During this course, Adam will help iron out any queries you have and with his extensive expertise and experience, he will really help you understand how to bring the most minimal of text, to a whole new life!
Places are limited so early booking is advised.
